We are pleased to report that the Lincoln PACE Race held on May 6, 2017, was an overwhelming success. Over 450 individuals ran and walked in the 5k and 10k and fun run events and stayed to enjoy the after race activities. Over 100 volunteers willingly gave their time and 25 wonderful sponsors provided cash and in-kind donations. As a result of this collective effort, over $20,000 was distributed to the Alzheimer’s Association and to Placer County Schools!
Below are some of the kind comments which we received from runners:
“I just wanted to send my appreciation and thanks for all the hard work you and all your volunteers did in regards to the Pace Race yesterday. The race was exceptionally organized from the website and sign-ups to the outdoor activities and results. I know It takes many hours and dedication to put together an event and it was fantastic! I had a great time, so much fun for all!!! I hope that this Race will be a yearly event. Again, Thank you!” – Valerie M
“Thank you Tony!! We had a great time, and look forward to doing it again next year!!” – Ann D
“I am looking forward to next year – mariachi band and all!!!” It was a fun race. I enjoyed talking to people who live there and learning more about it. They were very good ambassadors. See you next year..” – Karen R
“Hi Tony – Congratulations to you, Jim and the gang for a terrific, inaugural PACE race this past Saturday morning. Your event ranks and one of the top first-time events we have ever been involved with. Your thoughtful planning was obvious and the race-day execution was even better. From the pre-race singing of the National Anthem to Jeff, the race announcer, colorfully calling the finishers’ names until the last two finishers, it was a very memorable morning. And, what a stunning place to have the start/finish and after party. Lincoln Hills Sun City is gorgeous. We’d love to be involved in the future and see your event grow. “- Rich H
“I participated in the 5K Pace Race on May 6, 2017, and was pleasantly surprised to see what an organized function it was. The volunteers were great and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the ‘warm-up’ session and the MC throughout the pre-race wait. I thought it was a great touch to have my name called after stepping over the finish line. I’ve been to multiple 10K and 5K’s before in different areas of California and this event seemed more personal and friendly. The post-race party was unexpected as well. And, of course, my favorite was the tile medallion for McBean Gladding – it was more than expected. I will definitely participate next year- if my body allows!!!! Thank you for a fun experience.” – Vicki S
